I want to know what's going on in their Kitchen... because this place is awesome! First, the ambience and aesthetic was instagram worthy. They have an upstairs and downstairs (happy hour at the bars). There is plenty of seating and didn't need to have a reservation for happy hour. Second, the happy hour food and drinks were a good bang for your buck (considering DC prices). I tried the espresso martini and my friend had the spritz. The spritz was a bit too sweet for my taste. We had the plater and the hummus and naan was amazing. I would go back for the naan alone! Overall, this place checks all the boxes aesthetics, service, food and drinks.

Really great restaurant with unique menu offerings. The service was prompt and friendly. The food, especially the carrot salad, was exceptional. I know, it sounds lame to love a carrot salad, but it was unlike anything I've had elsewhere. Beautiful restaurant. Good food. Good service. Completely worth it.

This was a great Friday night treat in DC! The traditional Mediterranean flavors were outstanding. The Garlic Toum was sweet and spicy and a great addition to the chicken. We sat on the rooftop to catch the evening breeze which added to the ambiance. It had a typical restaurant noise level. Our server Jose was great and attentive. Would definitely come back!

Gypsy kitchen has an excellent happy hour available on the rooftop, at the bar and in high top bar table section. We both had the espresso martini which was light and refreshing ($8). We then split 3 dishes between us, which ended up being plenty of food. I would reorder everything we got and want to try the spritzes!

Absolutely loved this spot! Small plates are one of my favorites because of the ease of ordering and sharing. The hummus was delicious and the onions absolutely made the dish. The patatas bravas were delicious and even with the sauce stayed crispy. The service was slower, but that is expected for a popular spot. The atmosphere is a cool vibe and the patio was beautiful - it was just a little hot this week! Definitely will be on my list at my next trip to DC!

I've been wanting to go here for a while. I planned to go for my birthday for happy hour but couldn't wait. Came here on a Friday after work and it wasn't packed. I was seated right away upstairs at the bar. The bartender was great! Food and drinks ordered: Sangria 5/5 Crispy potatoes 3.5/5 Chicken 1/5 (it was too grilled for me but had great flavor) Hummus and pita bread 5/5 It's so beautiful inside. I can't wait to go back to try other things from their menu.

I've been to Gypsy Kitchen a handful of times and it never disappoints. I've been for both brunch and dinner and their food options are slightly limited, but I think that allows them to really perfect what they have on the menu. Their cocktails are also incredible - for brunch, the coconut espresso martini is soo yummy & the Murga for dinner is also excellent! ALSO - their pita bread is honestly the BEST pita bread. I could eat just the hummus and pita bread alone for a meal. It's so fluffy, comes piping hot and the zaatar is the perfect touch. The ambience is also gorgeous - dinner is usually busy and lively and the aesthetics of the restaurant are beautiful. It's definitely a DC staple for me!

This is my second time visiting this place. And this time it was the perfect vibe. I recommend getting a reservation and always ask for the rooftop if you can. The drinks were definitely good and for brunch I had the burger and my date had steak frites and they were both delicious. The staff is attentive and communicate it well.

Made reservations here for 6 pm on a Sunday for the rooftop patio. It wasn't very busy when we arrived and the hostesses greeted us immediately. The downstairs has a very Mediterranean vibe with intimate lighting, dark wooden features, and cozy seating. Upstairs there's an indoor bar that looked like it had some more light coming in from outside (it was still daytime) and of course the rooftop had plenty of light. During our meal as it got colder, they actually turned on a garage-like door (but quiet) that nearly enclosed the patio which was cool to watch. There's a lot of real plants everywhere as well. We weren't starving (which I regret) so we only ordered 3 small plates to share. We got the hummus, patatas bravas, and prawns. The service was very friendly and attentive. Food was ready pretty fast (it wasn't very busy). Everything was delicious!! The hummus was so good and the fresh puffy bread went so well with it. Not a hummus you'd find in a grocery store! The patatas bravas had really great flavor but I wish it was more crispy. I prefer extra crispy patatas bravas and these were pretty soft. The prawns were perfectly cooked and very Smokey. Would 100% come back again. I want to try the other items so bad! Will definitely come more hungry and won't eat lunch so late. Such a cute place as well with friendly staff.
